Advocacy Through Letters

During my time as President, I have written numerous letters advocating for causes that impact our members and the broader community. The letters featured here represent only a small sample of those efforts.

Advocacy is not always done in meeting rooms or over the phone. Many times, the people we need to influence are not available for a face-to-face conversation. In those situations, a well-crafted letter can be just as effective as a personal interaction. A thoughtful letter allows us to clearly communicate our position, present facts, and make a compelling case for action.

Letters also have the power to reach a much larger audience. They can create pressure on decision-makers, influence public opinion, and be published for others to read and share. Whether addressing elected officials, corporate leaders, government agencies, or community stakeholders, written advocacy remains one of the most important tools we have to advance the interests of working people.
