People might ask why I would leave a position that I genuinely love. The truth is, I don't want to leave it. I believe I have one of the best jobs in the UAW. However, I also believe our union faces critical challenges that require experienced leadership for the International level.
My greatest concern is job security. The transition to new technologies, changing manufacturing strategies, and global competition will require bold thinking and innovative solutions. I am running because I believe we need to advance the conversation about how we secure jobs for future generations of UAW members. We cannot simply react to change—we must shape it.
I am not running a campaign built on money. I will not spend $50,000 trying to buy support like others. Money has become too influential in American politics, and I will not contribute to that problem within our union. I believe members deserve leaders who earn support through their record, their ideas, and their commitment to working people.
I also will not tear others down to build myself up. My record speaks for itself. My experiences—from the shop floor to local leadership, from bargaining to political action, from fighting for job security to defending workers' rights—have prepared me for this role.
